Catalign Innovation Consulting is an independent consulting business
established in 2006. It was started to catalyze innovation in
organizations and even today it is very much focused on that single goal.
In fact, laser sharp focus is the hallmark of what we do.
Catalign is paranoid about two things: (1) systematic
approach (2) sustainability of the results. What it means is that Catalign does not facilitate “Creativity workshops”
or “Team building exercise” in isolation. In short, it does not
do anything that is not (1) connected to an organizational process goals
(2) anchored in an organizational ecosystem.
Catalign provides consulting services in following 2
areas:
• Systematic Innovation (Does it bother
you that the innovation pipeline is not strong enough?)
• Technical leadership development
(Do you worry about not having enough solution architects?)

Vinay is the founder of Catalign
Innovation Consulting and helps organizations become more innovative
systematically. This means improving one or more of the following four
parameters: innovation pipeline, participation, prototypes and
portfolio. He is paranoid about repeatability and sustainability of
innovation efforts. He believes we can do to innovation what Benjamin
Graham did to security analysis and what Joseph Juran
did to Quality. In the past 3 years, Vinay has worked with several India
centers of global organizations such as GE Healthcare, Motorola, ADP and
India-centric organizations such as Sasken, Mindtree and Symphony.
Vinay has 14 years of experience in innovation,
engineering, research and marketing. He is currently working jointly with
Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan of IIMB on a research
project to understand systematic innovation practices in corporate
and social sector in India.
His systematic innovation heroes include Thomas Edison, Jamsetji Tata, Warren Buffett, Mahatma Gandhi and A G Lafley.
He is an avid blogger and writes a blog
every week on insights related to innovation.
Before starting independent consulting business, he was with Sasken for 8 years where he performed various
management roles in engineering, marketing and research functions. Before
Sasken, he was with CAD Tools division of
Motorola SPS (now Freescale) in Texas, Austin.
Vinay did his Ph.D. in Computer Science from SUNY Buffalo and B.Tech. in Computer Science
and Engineering from IIT Bombay.
